McLaren P1 supercar emerges for its first sexy shots

Welcome the McLaren P1 -- the British maker's first supercar since the all-dominating F1 of the 1990s, and from the first trio of photos McLaren released today, the P1 will be one of the most striking vehicles on the road just sitting still. We don't know yet how much power it packs or how well it will perform, but McLaren promises the P1 will be nothing less than the best, ever.
Known as McLaren designer Frank Stephenson's first clean-sheet design for McLaren after the MP4-12C, the P1 is expected to combine the 3.8-liter V8 from the MP4-12C with some kind of hybrid system that could approach 1,000 hp total. In a statement, McLaren managing director Antony Sherriff says the P1 will be "the most exciting, most capable, most technologically advanced and most dynamically accomplished supercar ever made -- not necessarily to be the fastest in absolute top speed but to be the quickest and most rewarding series production road car on a circuit."
The rest of the details will be unveiled in Paris next Thursday, with the production model expected about a year from now.

Water wonderful world! Photographer captures amazing images in a single droplet

These incredible images are little drops of magic - capturing iconic images within a single droplet of water.
Photographer Markus Reugels spends hundreds of hours painstakingly trying to capture the impressive and beautiful images.
Mr Reugels, from Schweinfurt, Germany, can spend weeks agonising over snapping the image just at the right moment but the results are stunning.

The stuff of life: This image of the globe from space looks uncannily true to life when pictured through a droplet of water. Photographer Markus Reugels spends hundreds of hours painstakingly composing these shots. This image has been flipped upside down due to the reversing lens-like effects of the water droplet.

In one of his images, an image of the earth from space sits neatly inside the water droplet.
In another, the moon is brought into focus by a single drop of water, the flat image of the background distorted into a spherical result that appears uncannily true to life.

    Ice Hotel, Quebec, Canada.

The Ice Hotel opened on New Year's Day in 2001, located in Duchesnay resort in Quebec City.

It is the first ice hotel in North America and is built each December for an opening date in early January. The hotel has a four-month lifespan each year before being brought down in April. It has 85 beds, all made of ice but lined with deer furs and covered with mattresses and Arctic sleeping bags. Only the bathrooms are heated and located in a separate insulated structure.

It takes about a month and a half to build with 60 workers. The Hotel makes its own snow using a special mixture to adjust the humidity. It is built with metal frames, it is allowed to harden for a few days, and then the cranes are removed.

The hotel is made of 15,000 tons of snow and 500,000 tons of ice and the walls are up to four feet thick. The hotel has been described as a "tourist hotspot" and is backed by Quebec's tourism department. Tours are available in French or English, seven days a week, and the hotel is otherwise open to the public. There is a chapel where weddings are celebrated. The Ice Hotel has been described as one of the "10 dream wedding locations."
